The Carolinas Chapter held its charter meeting in November 2004 with 16 attendees. The chapter encompasses North Carolina and South Carolina and meets on a quarterly basis at various contractor locations alternating between the two states.
Since its inception, the chapter’s membership has grown to over 100 members. The members are security professionals that are dedicated to mentoring and training other security professionals. The members range of industrial security experiences go from the brand new FSO or ISSM to the seasoned security professional; learning and mentoring each as we provide and attend quality security training.
The Carolinas Chapter has been innovative in leading and becoming a model for other NCMS chapters, and moved to also provide virtual training during the most recent downward economic times, and has also created a Back to the Basics (B2B) training program. This training model has been presented to various NCMS chapters across the U.S. Also, in conjunction with the NCMS Hampton Roads Chapter, the Carolinas Chapter presents virtual Brown Bag Lunch training programs related directly to the NISPOM.
The Carolinas Chapter has been very active; its membership continues to grow, and as a Chapter has and continues to meet the needs of security professionals across the Carolinas by bringing relevant security training to the forefront. We could not do so without the dedicated volunteers of our chapter.
