United Service Organizations - USO
"Until Every One Comes Home"

The NCMS Carolinas Chapter was formed to provide training and technical support to industrial security professionals in the North and South Carolina. Since its inception, the chapter’s leadership has made a concerted effort to make the membership aware of philanthropic opportunities that support our “freedom fighters” and their associated communities.

In 2011 we helped the United Service Organizations of North and South Carolina. To accomplish this we held a raffle which was drawn on November 18, 2011. Tickets sold for $10 each or 3 tickets for $25.

Our final total was $4,330.00 !! Thanks to all of those who supported us!

All the prizes have been donated as has the printing, so every dollar collected was donated to:

the USO-NC presented at the USO Center of the Raleigh Durham Airport in North Carolina
by Chritstine Peterson and Linda Stender to Connie Inggs, and Patricia DeZetter

and to the USO-SC at the Columbia, SC airport by Cheryl Wheeler.

NCMS Carolinas Chapter is happy to announce that the following companies partnered with us on this project by donating the following raffle prizes:

NC USO History

NC USO Programs Supported

Today, as our predecessors have done since 1941 and our colleagues do in over 145 centers around the world, we continue to serve and support North Carolina’s military – active, National Guard, reserve and retired – and their families. Whether at deployments, homecomings, Honor Support Team activations, airport lounges, Smiles over Miles, United Through Reading and numerous other programs and services, our nearly 700 volunteers statewide and our small professional staff serve over 300,000 patrons annually – leading the way to enrich the lives of America’s military in the Carolinas.

Growing from one center – the oldest continuously operating USO in the world – in Jacksonville/Camp Lejeune, the USO of NC operates four centers in Jacksonville/Camp Lejeune, Raleigh Durham Airport, Charlotte-Douglas Airport and Fort Bragg/Fayetteville. Additionally, a recent donation of a mobile home which was converted into a mobile center, allows us to provide services across the entire Tarheel state – home to many of our nation’s military – active, guard and reserve.

North Carolinians are very generous of their time, talent and treasure – all essential to our operations. As you visit our virtual site, we welcome you to the very special world of USO of NC and hope you take the opportunity to find out how you can help our nation’s warriors and the families that support them. We need them, they need the USO of NC and we need you. Thank you!

A year-long celebration has commenced this month for the 70th anniversary of the USO! Evets are planned across the state. Many of the country's active duty military call North Carolina home. With seven major military installations, North Carolina has the fourth largest demographics of active and reserve duty components in the country and this population continues to expand. The USO of NC is a chartered USO and receives no funds from the national USO and all operational costs must be raised each year and its 4 centers are self sustaining. The USO of NC is a nonprofit, charitable organization, relying on the generosity of North Carolinians to support its programs and services. For more information, visit our website, Facebook page, Twitter page, or You Tube page.

South Carolina USO

The USO is a private, nonprofit organization whose mission is to support the troops by providing morale, welfare and recreation-type services to our men and women in uniform. The original intent of Congress — and enduring style of USO delivery — is to represent the American people by extending a touch of home to the military. The USO currently operates more than 140 centers worldwide, including ten mobile canteens located in the continental United States and overseas. Overseas centers are located in Germany, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Qatar, Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan, Guam and Kuwait. Service members and their families visit USO centers more than 6.9 million times each year. The USO is the way the American public supports the troops.

A nonprofit, congressionally chartered, private organization, the USO relies on the generosity of individuals, organizations and corporations to support its activities. The USO is not part of the U.S. government, but is recognized by the Department of Defense, Congress and President of the United States, who serves as Honorary Chairman of the USO.
